Dutch ceramist can not remember himself differently from his childhood than he was busy drawing. 
He developed himself in drawing and received commissions. Illustrating magazines, designing cards, record covers and books. Later he also started oil painting and exhibited in several galleries in the Netherlands. About 30 years ago, he became fascinated, after visiting an exhibition of a Belgian ceramist by sculptures. He felt the urge to go to work in three dimensions. 
Then stopped painting, studied ceramics and working with clay has not left him. 

He makes daily farts on little sticky notes from their own observation or appropriate newspaper photos, his humorous snapshots and fantasies: the man on the street and his facial expressions, shapes, absurdities and attitudes. It is necessary that there is a certain joke value is present and there is movement visible in the form. 

Leon prefers working with fine clay, so as detailed as possible to be able to work out the shapes. His sculptures have, as it were individuals themselves with an appearance and emotion, balancing on the area between reality and abstraction with humor. 
When the possibility of a private studio arose, his concentration on ceramics was only bigger and more intense. 
The first ceramics exhibition took place in Grasse, Provence, and many exhibitions followed in the Netherlands and abroad. He currently has a private gallery and studio in Amsterdam where he now lives and works. 

In 2012 he competed for the Netherlands in an international workshop organized by the World Art Games to Vukovar in Croatia. This resulted in a permanent place in the commission ceramics of World Art Games that took place in 2014 in Croatia. In 2018 participation Cucuteni Art camp Moldova,
